House

Here are some pics of our *hopefully* new house! When I uploaded these, I kinda went backwards, so it might make sense to page all the way to the bottom and work your way back up :) Sorry some of the pictures are really bad - I was taking these with my phone and couldn't control the light.

The house is located in rural Lake City, near Oak Center.

New Recipe

This is what I am making for supper on Friday after we have been at the clinic most of the day - doesn't it look delicious?

Crock Pot Chicken Taco Chili

There is nothing like a lazy Sunday when you have a meal cooking all day in the crock pot and the aroma of food is in the air, or coming home from work on a weeknight and having dinner ready when you get home. I love my slow cooker and this chicken chili is a delicious, low point, high fiber meal. It's so easy to make and it is great over rice, with multi-grain chips, topped with low fat cheddar cheese or low fat sour cream. This makes a lot and it is even better the next day for lunch!
From Gina's Weight Watcher Recipes
Servings: 10 servings • Size: 10 oz Prep Time: 5 minutes • Points: 4 ww points
1 onion, chopped
1 16-oz can black beans
1 16-oz can kidney beans
1 8-oz can tomato sauce
1 package frozen corn kernels
2 14.5-oz cans diced tomatoes w/chilies
1 packet taco seasoning
1 tbsp cumin
1 tbsp chili powder
24 0z. (3) boneless skinless chicken breasts
chili peppers, chopped (optional)
chopped fresh cilantro
Combine beans, onion, chili peppers, corn, tomato sauce, cumin, chili powder and taco seasoning in a slow cooker. Place chicken on top and cover. Cook on low for 10 hours or on high for 6 hours. Half hour before serving, remove chicken and shred. Return chicken to slow cooker and stir in. Top with fresh cilantro. Also try it with low fat cheese and sour cream (extra points).

A Post

Here you go Cathy - I am updating my blog.

Paul and I have news! Baby L is on their way with EDD of June 21st, 2010. It's hard to believe in less than 7 months Paul and I will be parents! It's exciting, and scary, and overwhelming all at the same time! I am already getting advice from everyone and their cousin - the next few months will be interesting! I can't wait until I start to feel normal again...

So the house hunt has been thrown into high gear - we now have a deadline! I would like to live closer to my parents, but that would mean a longer commute to work.

Busy Week

It is March and this week is absolutely nuts! Yesterday was my one and only evening to just relax! Today I have an afterschool program and then bell choir. Tomorrow is church. Thursday is knitting class, and Friday is eye appointment and then 4-H Y-Night! This weekend is sucked up into Amanda's bachelorette party. So I am really looking forward to next week - barely anything planned! Lots of time to catch up on house work!

Christmas 2008

Christmas has come and gone already! Where did the time go? We did a little decorating at home, Paul loves putting up the tree and putting lights up outside. Christmas Eve at mom and dad's was so fun - Colby was so fun to watch! Chase slept through most of it. We spent Christmas Day at the in-laws. Only 12 months until we get to do it all again!

Chase's Baptism

Chase Thomas Dohrn was baptized on November 9th. Eric and Amy and Perry's brother Wesley were his sponsors. Carrie had him in the cutest little cream-colored sleeper! He was so good through church! Colby was really good too considering how long he had to sit and be quiet. Pretzel snacks from Aunt Marcy helped a little I think. It was a fun afternoon gathering for dinner as well at Carrie and Perry's - a great opportunity to catch up with family!
